Not sure? It doesn’t matter for setup — the app does the work, and your plan appears on whichever display you have.

Set it up on your phone, while it ships.

This is the part that makes DayNest stick. Get the plan in now, and your display arrives already full of your family’s week. Sense is where you build the plan; DayNest is where everyone sees it.

01
Download Sense

Get the Sense app on your phone

Start before your DayNest even arrives. Download the Sense app — it’s where you build your family’s plan, and everything you set up now appears on the display the moment it’s on the wall. Free to download on iPhone and Android.

02
See the magic first

Forward one thing — watch it become the plan

Before you set anything else up, try the part that makes families fall for Sense. Send one real thing and watch it turn into calendar events — no typing.

Try this now

Forward an email to share@getsense.ai, or send a photo or PDF from your phone. A school term schedule can become calendar events in seconds — always check important dates before relying on them.

You can throw almost anything at it
School PDF
A whole term of dates from one forward.
Whiteboard photo
Snap the fridge planner or a handwritten note.
Backpack flyer
That crumpled school flyer, straight to dates.
WhatsApp group
Screenshot the class chat and send it in.
Event link
Paste an Eventbrite or sports-league URL.
Just say it
Tap the mic and speak the event out loud.
Is what I forward private?
Yes. Sense only sees what you choose to forward or the calendars you connect — never your whole inbox. You control what’s connected, and you can disconnect anything at any time.
More ways to add (for later)
Once you’re comfortable, Sense also takes voice via Alexa and Siri Shortcuts, the iOS share sheet from any app, ICS feed subscriptions for school and league calendars, and Word or CSV documents. Handy, but not needed to get going.
03
Create your household

Make your family’s shared space

In the app, create your household — the shared space your whole family draws from.

No card needed today

Your DayNest includes 12 months of Sense.AI Family Calendar. We’ll remind you before it ends. You choose whether to continue — nothing renews by surprise.

What is Sense.AI, simply?
It’s the assistant that reads the calendars and messages you connect and turns key dates into reminders on your wall. You choose what’s connected, and you can disconnect anytime.
04
Add your family

Get everyone in — especially the other adult

Add everyone in the household and give each person a colour. Colour is how a glance at the wall instantly says whose day is whose — and letting the kids pick theirs is the moment they buy in.

The one that matters most

Get your partner or co-parent to install Sense on their phone too. When two adults are both adding to it, the mental load is genuinely shared — and DayNest never goes stale.

Do the kids need their own logins?
No. You add family members from one household account. Kids simply read the wall — there’s nothing for them to log into.
05
Connect your calendars

Bring in the calendars you already use

You don’t have to move to a new app — DayNest just displays your calendars together. The more you connect now, the fuller your display looks the day it arrives.

Google

  1. Tap Add calendar → Google
  2. Sign in and approve calendar access
  3. Choose which Google calendars to show

Apple

  1. Tap Add calendar → Apple
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Approve calendar sharing

Outlook

  1. Tap Add calendar → Outlook
  2. Sign in to your Microsoft account
  3. Pick the calendars to display

iCloud

  1. Tap Add calendar → iCloud
  2. Enter your iCloud email & app password
  3. Select the calendars to sync
Nothing showing up yet?
New events can take a few minutes to appear. Refresh the view, and check the calendar is toggled “visible” in the app.
06
Add a routine

Add one simple routine

Add one morning routine in the app. Start with the sequence you already do — uniform, lunch, bag, shoes. You can always add more once the family gets used to it.

What makes a good first routine?
Keep it to 3–4 steps everyone already does: uniform on, bag packed, lunchbox in, shoes on. Small and repeatable beats complete.
Phase 2 · When it arrives

Bring it home — the easy part.

You’ve done the real work on your phone. Now it’s just place it, power it, and watch it fill with everything you already set up.

07
Unbox & place it

Put it where life happens

Lift it out and put it where your family already gathers — the kitchen bench, the fridge, the hallway. Stand it on the counter or mount it on the wall. Visibility is the whole point.

Where should I put it?
Choose the spot your family already passes through — the kitchen, hallway or entryway. DayNest is designed to be seen without anyone having to reach for it.
08
Power on & Wi-Fi

Turn it on and get it online

Plug in, hold the power button for two seconds, then choose your home network. Joining Wi-Fi is the only technical step — and it’s just a normal Wi-Fi login.

Your DayNest plugs into wall power and stays on — that’s what keeps the family plan always visible. DayNest Flow uses a rolling stand setup, so place it near power and follow the included stand instructions.

Nothing on the screen?
Hold the power button for a full 10 seconds to force a restart, and check the adapter is firmly seated at both ends.
Can’t see your network?
Make sure you’re choosing a home network (not a guest network with its own sign-in page). If the list is short, move DayNest closer to the router for the first connection.
09
It comes to life

Watch it fill with your plan

The moment it’s online, everything you set up on your phone appears — calendars, colours, routines and reminders. No configuring at the wall. The whole family just sees the plan.

Your phone adds things. DayNest is where the household sees them.

You’re done enough

What good looks like.

You’re set up enough when DayNest can answer these at a glance:

What’s on today?
What’s for dinner?
What time are we leaving?
Who has sport?
What does each person need to remember?
What’s coming up tomorrow?

Start there. You can grow into the rest later.

More than a calendar

Grow into it when you’re ready.

Start with the calendar. Add these as the family settles in — each one gives everyone another reason to check the wall.

Meal plan
Plan the week’s dinners so no one asks “what’s for tea?”
Routines
Morning and after-school sequences that run themselves.
Chores & rewards
Kids can track tasks and work toward simple goals.
Document hub
Scan insurance cards and school forms — tagged and findable.
Lists & recipes
Shared grocery lists and saved recipes, linked to the meal plan.
The part that matters most

Your first week with DayNest.

Setup is the easy part. This is how DayNest stops being a gadget on the wall and becomes the thing your household actually checks — without anyone being nagged.

Day 1

Put it where life happens

Mount it where everyone already stands still for a moment — the kitchen bench, the fridge, the hallway. Visibility is the whole point.

Day 2

Point everyone to their colour

Gather the family and show each person their colour on the wall. Seeing themselves on the display is what makes it theirs.

Day 3

Make forwarding a habit

Forward school emails, flyers and event links to Sense instead of retyping them. The wall stays ahead of you.

Day 4

Add the repeat questions

What’s for dinner? What time are we leaving? Who has sport? What needs packing? Put the answers where everyone can see them instead of asking one person.

Day 5

Keep the screen calm

If the wall starts to feel busy, remove what nobody actually uses. A calm screen gets read; a cluttered one gets ignored.

Day 6

Let the kids own something

Let each child own their colour, a routine or a task. Checking their own thing on the wall is what turns “the screen” into “my screen”.

Day 7

Review the wall

What did people actually check? What was missing? What questions still came back to one person? Adjust from there.

The point of week one

It’s not about perfect setup.

The first week is not about perfect setup — it’s about teaching the household where to look. Once everyone knows to glance at the wall, DayNest is working.

Good to know

Questions families ask.

Is my information private?
You choose what’s connected. Sense only sees what you forward or the calendars you link — never your whole inbox — and you can disconnect anything at any time.
What happens after the 12 months?
Your 12 months of Sense.AI Family Calendar is included, no card required. We’ll remind you well before it ends, and you decide whether to continue. Nothing auto-charges by surprise, and the display keeps working.
Which calendars work with DayNest?
Google, Apple, Outlook and iCloud — all displayed together. You keep using the calendar apps you already have; DayNest just brings them into one view.
What if the Wi-Fi drops?
DayNest keeps showing the last synced plan and reconnects on its own when Wi-Fi returns. Nothing is lost.
Can we use it across two homes?
Yes. Family members can be in the household from different homes, so shared-care and separated-parent setups stay in sync. Add a second display wherever it helps.
Do the kids need their own logins?
No. You add family members from one household account. Kids simply read the wall — there’s nothing for them to log into.
What about returns and warranty?
Every DayNest includes Australian support and warranty. If it’s not right, our team will sort it out — just get in touch.
